Photo's of sailing yacht upholstery?

I'm just in the process of having a couple of quotes for a full 're upholster' of the boat including foam etc! With this in mind I'd like to pass on to the upholsterer some photo's to give him a visual idea of what I'd like to achieve before the scissors hit the cloth!
I have in mind a high quality buttoned or seamed arrangement of the type common in the more traditional craft and/ or prior to the nineties.
Our fabric will be dark blue though its more the shape and detail that I'm interested in, in the photo's!
does anyone have any links to a good selection of images please?
I've tried google images but tend to get a lot of dross amongst them plus most are quite plain and or modern!
Would also be interested in a link or two to sites that can supply 'plastic' uphostery buttons please!

The company should have photographs of the ones they have done for other boats, ask them if you can see them to choose yours (gives an idea of the quality too)

thanks for the speedy reply chrisie......he's not a dedicated boat upholsterer but a general commercial and domestic guy who has a lot of caravan experience.....hence why I want to give him a few pointers and the links to 'marine acceptable' accessories!
I'd tried Kayrospruce's site along with Points north but must have missed 'em!....thanks!

Your choice of style may be dependant upon which fabric you go for.
Some fabrics are good in three dimensions, others only in two dimensions.

Can highly recommend 'Comfort Afloat' in Gosport. They replaced all the old foam and made up the covers etc. Reasonably priced too. (Tomliboos book not included!!)

I would go for raised front edges on seats;- make a world of difference to leg comfort and I would avoid like the plague leather - unless you love sticky squelchy noises every time you unglue your backside!

yes I have in mind a 'raised' front edge and the material is a dark blue Alcantara type cloth!

I made my own cushions ..I wont bore you with photos as they are no more relevant to your requirements than most of the previous offerings in the thread.

Spyro's pictures are I would have though what you have in mind... no?

I opted for no buttons but I note that Hawke House Ltd offer buttons with an aluminium shell and a nylon back and nylon bottom ( contra) buttons.

I imagine that those supplied by Toomer and Hayterare the same although they do not mention the shell material, just that they have plastic backs. Likewise they do not state the material of the contra buttons .

Id suggest you contact these two companies as both specialize in boat uphostery

Your chosen upholsterer should be able to accommodate your wishes. If not go elsewhere.

Have a look at the HR 352 interior shots on the Yachtsnet site. That might be what you are looking for. Deep buttoned has gone out of fashion as it is not only very expensive to do (lots of labour) but rather impractical as it is not easy to remove the covers for cleaning. You might talk to Toomer and Hayter as they do a very wide range of styles and have all the bits and pieces including buttons.
