OK - come on R&T, you've had your fun. Admit it, this was a wind-up, wasn't it? You never really intended this Mecanno solution to your motive power requirements to be taken seriously, did you. Mind you, I have great admiration for those who stuck with you so long just in case you were really bent on self destruction.

American Wooden Boat magazine did an article on what they called 'yulohs' some years ago. The interesting thing was that there was a pivot system with a strap on the end of the yuloh that caused it to make the proper motion through the water.

Wooden Boat magazine No. 100 may/june 1991. Its in an article on sculling, with some diagrams of sweeps etc and a homemade yuloh.
