Hi all ,just a quickly .......is it possible to replace the fwd crankshaft oil seal in situ or is it an engine out job ??

Cheers .

So long as accessible easily done in situ.

Manual at http://www.motoren.ath.cx/Download.php?filename=/perkins/Perkins-4.107_4.108_4.99.pdf ( Big file, takes a while to download)

See section J

But very probably not necessary to remove the timing cover.

After removing the pulley drill 2 or 3 holes in the seal, screw in 2 or 3 self tappers and use these to pull the seal out. A gentle tap inwards first might help to release it. Otherwise follow the instructions in section J

Many thanks for your reply Vic will down load the file and have a look . Sounds an easy enough job . Thanks .
