People who buy cruises don\'t like boats..

Yes it’s true. Undaunted by my recent and continuing failures at boat purchase. TB and I went on a cruise last week of the Med in a big (200pax) floating hotel.

What an eye opener: - here are 10 good reasons/differences why folks who buy cruise holidays don’t like boats: -

1) The boats moor by day and sail by night when you are supposed (allegedly) to sleep.
2) Obective of cruise appears to be at A or B rathar than getting from A to B
3) The captain was sober all the time
4) Everyone else drank in moderation even though the booze, including champers, was free.
5) I was allegedly the first person in 3 months who wanted to visit the bridge ….
6) People who cruise don’t want their own shed
7) A clean pair of shorts is NOT considered Formal Dress
8) Captain demands that Throwing fags over the side is banned on cruise liners as opposed to mandatory everywhere else
9) People on cruises get OFF boat at every opportunity and go and look at old ruins and therefore pay for own booze!!
10) People on cruises don’t enjoy singing at 2am to 'Stones Unplugged' ( that includes the ship's crew , spoilsports)

and 1 for luck..

Why is it that cruise liners get to berth in the UGLIEST commercial ports imaginable??

Sorry to disappoint you but that honour is reserved for oil tankers and hazardous cargo vessels - believe me.....been there, done that and had to pay the taxi fares...../forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Aarggh, if the cap fits.....

although actually they were generalisations.......the miscreant behaviour being mine....

Although I do think that Pat tossing his fag over the side and dropping his wine glass on the deck while attempting conversation with the Ship's doctor at 1 am on last night was Men Behaving Badly re-incarnate...

P.S. Didn't know you had 'Stones Unplugged'....

You mean there are uglier places than Palermo and Carthage where we were adjacent to aforementioned vessels? Gadzooks, I'll never leave the South of France again...
