Penarth lock closes between 19 March and 30th March . . . I am on annual leave from 24th March and had hoped to go sailing for that week but obviously would not be able to escape on the 24th! Our only option to stay within Cardiff Bay is to go to Cardiff Marina or one of the yacht clubs for the few days prior to this.

I see Cardiff Marina would charge our boat around £90 for a weeks visitor mooring - unless they did a special rate for those Penarth Marina boats to try out their facilities during the lock shut down at Penarth!?

What do the yacht clubs charge for a weeks visitor mooring in the bay? The alternative offered from Penarth Marina is to go across to Portishead which is a bit of a pain!

If there was a charge at CBYC I don't think it would be all that much.
"Conference" yachts get the first night free. I suppose you could dodge
back and forth between CBYC and CYC until you were sussed-out!
There are a few berths unoccupied over here at the moment. Be aware
"River Island" berths are level with the White Water Park (long walk from
our clubhouse/car park).

CYC don't normally charge visitors, although that is for visitors from outside the bay who are staying on their boats. If you wanted to leave your boat unattended you would need to talk to a committee member, to see if it is possible. The best time would be over a weekend.
My understanding, from other people, is that CBYC charge something like £10/night.

I understand visitors during the period from Friday 16th March- Sunday 1st April will benefit from 50% rate reduction. So the above example would be £45 for the week. I hope this helps
