Peeing over the side

As for peeing on someone's boat that is beyond the pail.

If you're peeing beyond it, perhaps you need a bigger pail! ;) Sorry.

Is the problem the todger being on view or the pollution of the sea?

If it's the former, don't sail in Croatia as we are often surrounded by boats at anchor where everyone is completely starkers and todgers (and everything else!) is swinging freely in the breeze! Sometimes it's great, sometimes it isn't - I'm sure you get my drift!

Damn - Mike beat me by 1 minute!

I feel sympathy for the OP - being offended by a perfectly natural act and/or sight of a body part must be a heavy burden to bear. As the owner of an enlarged prostate I have been forced to overcome my own reservations on peeing in public - the choice being to get it out or to wet my pants and the urgency of this decision is immediate and cannot easily be avoided. It used to embarrass me but a cycling event in France where such reservations were so obviously not in evidence cured me.
If you don't like it don't look. As for peeing on someone's boat that is beyond the pail.

Peeing from a height, always attracts attention simply with the noise.

Perhaps attention seeking is the aim!

Yes, but that is the norm & not unexpected.

The middle of Cowes is!

Would You Pee in the street?

KDS,

I have no issue with people peeing anywhere, as long as they cannot be seen. Would you pee in the street, I would hope not.

I am very sorry that so many of you think that this is OK. How would you feel if you had your Daughter in the dingy with you? In this country it is against the law to expose your self.

How can my wife look away, to be looking away you have to have looked in the first place.

If I see you peeing in the marina or harbour you will be hearing from me.

I will not be naming the Westerly, if he is reading this he will know who he is.

I had always believed that the people that go sailing were amongst the very finest all. Clearly this is no longer the case.

Indeed, RNLI were rumoured to have a category of incident report known as the DOWF syndrome.
This referred to picking up expired yachtsmen who were "dick out when found"

... Am we unique in finding this sort of behaviour unacceptable? ....
... Almost, from the tone of the replies. I guess I don't move in the same circles as you. I don't think I know anyone who'd be shocked by the sight ...

A good response is, "That looks like a penis, only smaller."

Peeing over the side in the dark when there is a lot of phosphorescence is one of sailing's great pleasures.

(I assume the use of a singular verb with a plural pronoun evidences a subconscious worry that more than one person being "unique" is something of an oxymoron.)

Over the side out in the back of beyond, or at least not in full view in say a small anchorage/creek... no problem (it ends up there anyway)... but over the side in a marina in broad daylight, with other boaters clearly in view!! Bad form.

Absolutely unacceptable in public. These people show disrespect for others.
I thought that yachting was a gentlemen recreation.

I don't see the point, in Germany, France, Spain and Portugal they all pee anywhere they feel like it even facing you on the autobahn.
and we are supposed to be in the EU:rolleyes: with them so who's going to uphold a grievance in the UK.:D:D

I agree, but in the dark its OK - if the pee goes down the heads it ends up in the marina anyway.

Peeing into somebody elses boat is totally out of order, one has to assume the pisser was pissed.

Recently in our marina somebody actually pooed in the cockpit of another boat during the night - it cost him about £300 for a full valet as compensation.
