How come some of the women who are forumites put 'husband' under 'hobbies' in their personal details whereas if I were to put 'wife' down as one of my hobbies I would be gently roasted by others (and probably my wife as well!)

Perhaps I should it down under the heading of 'Who said life was fair?'

I've seen plenty with 'wife' or 'girlfriend' under hobbies. Doesn't worry me. Same same.

Perhaps they are worried about unwelcome advances by PM from some of the scary axe murderers on the forum and want to make it quite clear up front that they are happily married!

In that case your wife should be quite happy if you put her down as one of your hobbies (assuming there are some female axe murderers here as well who will make unwelcome advances)... although you would get roasted by everyone else but then that will happen whatever you put down!!!

Wives should be listed under "Occupation" not "Hobbies"...

ah, but at least having hobby such as "husband" or "wife" is a bit better than having a hobby of analysing all the occupations of people on ybw forums whjich is even more sad gittish (?) and for which you can consider yourself somewhat roasted.

I think SWMBO has me down as a project (like, for example, a property needing improvement) rather than a hobby. Unfortunately she hasn't made very much progress during the course of the first 20-year plan...............
