Hi Pauline I have just seen a mid December post from you re PHYC. And your Boats in Brighton.
Coincidently I have just cruised up from Brighton Marina (pontoon 16) to a berth at Penton Hook for a while.
Arrived Tuesday last although my proposed berth was frozen over they found me one on Pontoon A.
Thought I might join the yacht club, can you recommend ? email clivegraham@yahoo.com Thanks

Whats it like back on the river clive ? do you miss playing with the big boys in the open sea ? Have you put all your Gps and computer nav kit up for sale yet ? Or are saving it for when you have a domestic with the missus and return to the seven seas . Happy boating Mark

Hi Mark the full effect has'nt sunk in yet, wait till I've been out a couple of times without the need to, fill in waypoints
on PC, set up GPS, monitor weather, etc etc. It was with heavy heart that last Tuesday I left the boat laden with two PC's (Tsunamis99) handheld GPS, handheld VHF, pilot books, almanac (out of date, do I get one at the LBS today ? and is there any point)all the various cables etc.
Never mind I'm looking forward to NOT seeing the fuel gauges move at river speed.
Did you read my "radar if only" post? Never mind maybe you will be able to give me a sea fix later in the year.
Regards CGN

Hi TonyR Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed several trips up river from PH, when I visited in June
and indeed Penton Hook brokerage is where I bought the boat. I previously had a Princess 32
based at Penton Hook, but only briefly before I bought the Broom. She has been down in Brighton
for past year, during which time I have honed my sea skills, however on the few trips out of
Brighton my wife went on, she was uncomfortable in even the slightest of swells. She much
prefers the river where she does not have to keep holding on and going green.and can enjoy
a glass of wine on the move. By the way in Nutfield I have an equal journey either to PH or Brighton.
Hope to see your on the river what's your boats name? CN

Hi! Why don't you pop into the club on a Wednesday and meet Pauline, MrB and my Mum and Dad (Chrispy), they could sign you in as a guest and give you the run down of PHYC.
