I may have upset some peeps...
...over in the lounge. I posted that I won't be going back to the lounge because of the purile, bad-taste, toilet humour of some members in there. I'm not a snob, but I do think that the likes of the esteemed members you mention have moved on because of this, or at least, partly because of this. I had no intentions of tarring all with the same brush, but I did pick up some flames as a result.

Have spoken to both Byron and Coliholic recently.
Byron has effectively retired from 'serious' boating since selling his P435 tho he still has his launch and is involved with several of the Mid-Thames Yacht Clubs. He sends his regards to anyone who will treat them nicely and would be happy to host another rally if we decide we'd like to organise one. (the last one failed to attract enough interest unfortunately).
Coliholic (aka Cutey....dont ask......)is currently working abroad and still boatless but does look in to the forum occasionally.
As for CJ....cant help I'm afraid.

i think it's best to divide the the task into smaller parts that are easier to handle, keep everything dry and well ventilated, and if things don't go as well as they should do, try a few firelighters

where's that post gone? That wasn't too bad was it. I mean, he had a pop at me, i had one back. No bad language, veiled personal stuff. This isn't kim moderating any more is it? It's someone who knows kim and is trying to take out the posts that seem "a bit unpleasant" as well, is it? Or what?
Surely pulled posts warrant a PM if poss to those involved?

Agree with you about the Lounge, don't visit anymore, not for me. However general Boaty Debate better here since it opened I suppose?
I just can't believe that people who are now there and not here were at one time on here and that opinionated / purile, or is it just that "The Lounge" has made 'em worse?? P

I think I'm right in saying The Lounge is relatively unmoderated. Only my opinion, but if you have no rules, it all goes pear-shaped. Seen it happen on other forums that started out good.
