Hi I'm planning a 2 week cruise to the CI and France in a few weeks.

My preference would be to make St Vaast my first port of call, has anyone here been recently and can I get my passport stamped on arrival ?

2nd question is, say I leave and stop off in the CI's on route to St Malo should I check out of France and back in or just move on, I'm nowhere near my 90 days

Thanks as always.

Does not appear on the list of temporary ports of entry reported in PBO. Nearest are Caen and Cherbourg. no reason to check out if you are stopping in the CIs unless you want to "save" your "days"

I was speaking to a racing sailor last night in cherbourg- I don’t vounch for advice but he said very little concern taken at st vaast over lack of stamping facilities. As you might have read st cast and another in Brittany seemed to have dispensed with it this summer. I suspect therefore if you sailed into st vaast and sailed on a few days later you would not be struck down . Re stopping off in the CI if you want to log in at cherbourg I see no problem if you are diverted on route. If you arrive cherbourg post 6pm local time and depart pre 9am next day seems rather hard to log in currently BTW.

You'll find the form for the small french ports in the region at this website:

Ports Manche

You can email the form in on arrival and departure!

Worked for me in May of this year. No comment to be made on delightful lack of interest in the formalities as experienced.
