The chimney is approx 20 inches in length and is simply some tags cut into the tube an pushed inwards with a cap welded on the top, as to the roof fitting, this is what came with mine....bought secondhand.. it can be seen that it has been leaking so some improvememnts to be made.

Re: Pansy Flue and Deck flange

Mike, that is superb, thanks.
Really quite a different design from any other chimney I have seen, so the pictures are invaluable! The chimney design must work if they have been going all these years, so I will just get the workshop to copy yours.

Re: Pansy Flue and Deck flange

I am sure I have a pair of the deck fittings shown above. One has a part cut off, I guess it was fitted right up tp a coaming. Made fron copper. Also have the stainless chimney if I can find it, same as in the pics. Will go and have a look for it. We dont use it at all. Our copper flue protrudes about 4" through the coach roof, hate to admit it but it just goes throug a tight fit. Never leaked, never gets really hot, only hand warm. The top of the body is about 30" from the deck head. The deck flanges are stainless not copper. Can't find the top pipe yet. Interested?

I can't see that a water-filled trough would be much use except in very sheltered waters, unless you have a boat that doesn't roll or pitch much.

I had a thought about that last night. Could a solution for this problem be solved by fitting a shaped sponge into the water tray - that way water will cool even on a heel?

Thanks to Transcur, I will soon have a small chimney for the Pansy, without the need for a deck-iron and a huge deck hole.

Re: Pansy Flue and Deck flange

I phoned Pascal Atkey and they split a complete stove package they had in stock to send me the through deck flue fitting. It cost about £30 including delivery and is very simple, a flange welded onto an 8 inch length of 1 inch stainless tube.

It arrived a couple of days after the phone call and they took a card payment over the phone.

Seems to work well. Simply excellent service, just like I get from the stove.

Re: RE Pascal Atkey\'s Pansy- Can it make enough heat???

The big question is: Can a Pansy heater keep my boat reasonably warm?
She is a shallow draft 30' gaff cutter with 10' beam. 5' head room in the cabin and about 3' forward where my bunk is. In fact about 530cu.ft. I figured it with a BTU calculator but I'm not sure that really works here.
Do you who have experience with the Pansy think I can keep a steady ,say, 60 odd degrees when it's, say, 40 outside? (That's fahrenhet )

I have a very nice Pansy ready to install but don't want to start drilling untill I know more-
