Claymore lives on a mooring and so parking stern to is a bit of a nonsense really as the water slaps against the back and would probably get up the exhaust pipe and my mooring strops wont reach as the back is wider than the front.
When going into marinas we often park stern to, sideways on or in the wrong berth, it just depends how the old boat is feeling about things that day - we just go along with whatever she decides.

You must be on 'A' side then?

Have you asked about a move, I have moved twice and had a winter berth without too much trouble. Accept that one of the problems at PW is not just a big waiting list but an ever increasing number of people upgrading to bigger boats.

The down side is if they start to charge by the berth size e.g. we are 9.4m in a "up to 10m" berth.
