Paper shredders (non boaty)

Can you recommend one for domestic use, perhaps 100 a4 pages per day?

Some of them seem so cheap on the Internet that surely they are rubbish.

It depends whether you want to reduce the paper to a useful by-product - animal bedding, packaging material - or secure destruction of the information on it. An ordinary shredder just cuts it into strips and a forensic expert can reassemble it - the rest of us don't have the patience. A cross cut shredder cuts it into diamonds and it is nigh impossible to reconstruct it.

I've used a Fellowes ms450cs for the past 4 years or so (Small office, two people sharing)
'Micro shreds' paper for data protection, cuts up credit cards.
Will chew through staples, so no need to remove them first.
Not cheap but seems well built and still going strong.

Buy a decent second hand commercial quality one on ebay.

I have also used a Fellowes cross cut for some years, works well, no problems, provided you don't overload it. They do recommend some lubrication every now and then with special oil.

We bought one that will shred A4 but no more than 2 or 3 thicknesses at once.

It wont run continuously ... cuts out on a overheat sensor after not very many pages.

The bin wont hold anything like 100 x A4

You'll need a commercial one that wont suffer from any of the above limitations.

(Just a warning of possible pitfalls if you try to economise)
