Paper Chart and 3 months from the Solent

Solent, Dover, Dunkirk, Ostend, (for trip to Brugge,) Blankenburge, Flushing, Dutch canals. Anywhere on the standing mast route. Then home via Boulogne, Dieppe, Fecamp, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Guernsey, St Helier. Cherbourg, Home. 90 days in the schengan if you work it right.
Alternatively round part UK via cally canal. I did it in 12 weeks but some lega a bit long for dogs
You could always stick a fish hook through the back leg of one & trail it behind. ( no good through the lip- likely to rip out) . With a decent trace & rod you migh get a nice shark. Could be fun & save the rowing ashore problem. ;)

I think a lot depends on how hard you want to work on making distance. Some of us sometimes like the sense of achievement, and some sometimes are happy to spend a week at anchor in an interesting spot reading Tolstoy, drinking coffee/whisky [delete which inapplicable] and watching people come and go.

Also whether you prefer to plan in advance and so have destinations in mind, or whether you're happy just to potter from harbour to anchorage to harbour as the wind and fancy take you.

If I sold the house and surrounding grounds (3.5acres) ... the two smaller boats out of the 4 .... the 80 or so models and gear I have in workshop ... I could retire comfortable ... but its not my idea ...
I cannot imagine not working. Like most - there are times I detest work ... but often there are turns in it that create a good feeling of achievement ... I actually for all my moaning - enjoy my job and the freedom it gives.

I'm Latvia West Coast HLR for Cruising Assoc ... a position I am proud to take on and help anyone sailing our shore. The CA boats that I meet - are obviously not small - the people are more often retirees or those who have taken serious rest from work.
A number of them take the time through the year to sail to Baltic and then lift out for winter here ... to be put back in next season - to start their Baltic cruises ...
3 months could get you into Baltic if willing to do long legs ... it sounds too long - but not once you start adding up the stops etc. But the reward of sailing in virtually tideless waters ... with the Swedish / Aland / Finland Archipelago's which are something else to experience ...

If OP is looking to sail 3 months ... and then later another ... maybe its a thought ??
