contact http://www.sailtur.com/defaultuk.htm and "Sail in a yacht like a king". Yes they are now renting yacht "BOLERO SAILTUR", a mac26x, near AFAICT, Palma. These X boats are everywhere, you might as well get use to them and similar concepts from Britain, Germany, and Austrailia. In the early 1970s the notion that a pocket cruising sailboat (indead any sailboat) could plane (not just surf) on the ocean was unfathonable. I think now, after about 35 years, more see that it is possible than do not. They look nice in a group don't they?

These are not recommended for those who are keel boat trained. It takes time to unlearn just as it takes time to learn. But by all means if you are use to a planing hull you will want to check out the Mac26x. If you want to make the TP52 fellows wifes think their husbands idiots by all means beat them to port in one. Note that other powersailers are designed to plane only when under motor power. This X boat is designed to plane under sail either ballasted or unballasted and does so. But not at 30 mph. 17 mph is claimed by the manufacturer as top end speed under sail and 24 mph is the claim with a 50 hp motor and the boat in factory light condition. Each 100 lbs of weight takes off 1 mph in top end speed. Something like that according to the designer.
