Ownership numbers

I know some people change their boats very regularly but I'd say they're in a small minority.

I suspect it's the reverse. Loads of people buy a boat and decide it's too small/too big/too expensive to run/can't handle it/can handle it easily so feel confident to move up/wife doesn't like it/wife said she wouldn't like it but now does but wants a bigger kitchen and more locker space/don't use it as much as they expected/use it far more than they expected/find it smaller than it felt at the boat show once they're all aboard with all their gear/had a crap summer and want out/had a brilliant summer and want more in/bought a trailerable boat and never trailer so why not get a bigger one/if only it had ??? it would be perfect/et etc etc

It's not like buying a fridge where you stand it in the kitchen and as long as it keeps the food cold you're done. Masses and masses of reasons to quickly move up/down/out.

Whilst I'm sure plenty do 'get it right' and stick with the boat they bought, I suspect plenty don't and move on quickly.

My first boat was carefully researched and going to be perfect for the next 10 years. It was gone within 2 years once a couple of seasons had shown me what I really needed.

Every boat owner knows exactly which boat their next one is going to be, the only thing that varies is whether they can afford it.
