In my Sibbing activities i lift quite a few outboards ranging from 10 - 56 kg. As I get older anything over 40 kg is getting heavy and is a back injury waiting to happen.

I made this device from a deer lifting crane and it seems to work far better than I expected. Video below

 
You are not wrong there. The issue is that for me about 52 Kg I can lift but not at all easily and that is when issues happen
I could realtively happily lift 52 kg at the gym, but put it in the awkward off balance shape of an o/board and it definitely became a 2 person job. I thought this was going to make it a one man job but did I understand its still a 2 person job as you need to balance the crane? The critical step was 5:18-5:34 of the video where you cut without showing the motor being hoisted / swinging around?
