Just returned a great couple of weeks on the French Normandy coast. Ok was supposed to go to CI but weather angles meant Fecamp was a better wind choice. Also trundled to Honfleur, Caen and St Vaast and met several others who had also ducked out of CI or West Country. Found Honfleur lacking in flower boxes this year and looking tired whereas Caen had been refurbished and was spot on. The three convoys a day make it easy to get to and fro along the canal. Passed young Cuncliffe in his runabout on it so gave a wave.
The French National day fireworks at Caen lasted over 30mins and were some of the best I have ever seen - worth a trip for those alone.

During a windy interlude at St Vaast look the bus to look at Barfleur light. Got this wrong way round, walked from Barfleur town to the light and then to Gattville for beer and bus return. Only trouble no bar in Gattville.

Finally the two of us had a stonking run back under spinny on the limit at up to 12 knots so well pleased with my new hips performance and the weeks sailing in general.

Actually the weather in the Channel Islands was fine the past couple of weeks. It seemed to rain the most at night, and most days were ok. In fact there were some stonking hot days (13 July in St. Helier being one)

It did rain Thursday night / Friday morning on the way back but the rain held off for the Osborne House Concert on the way home.

Yes ours is a great hobby
