I know ive posted with a similar thread title before, but that was the old mans fairline (the big boat)

This time me and the mrs have had our solo maiden trip in the smaller 16ft boat, was brilliant!

It was the first time ive towed with my car (shogun) so took some photos of being all hooked up

Took me 3 attempts to reverse down the slip and launched with no dramas, just took our time

We found a little spot which had no wind, plenty of sunshine and chucked the weight over board and tucked into lunch

We also tried a few things, like how it handles with waves at varying angles, turns, slow manoeuvres etc... the mrs wasnt sure about having a go, but i wanted some photos so we both had a good go, before i get majorly told off, this was a brief moment of swapping control hence the lack of kill cord on wrist yet, ive been quite good at remembering that today

Finished off by pulling her out back onto the trailer and home! No dramas, no mistakes just a nice enjoyable afternoon on the loch

Here is a photo heading towards the end of loch eil, where the clouds finish is probly around the coast line on the way to mallaig

A cheeky pass of the saw mill loading dock which is next to the boat club slip way

Now regarding the old mans boat, we are having a meeting next week with a tutor to discuss our needs and organise some proper handling courses :)

It's a confidence booster when all goes well, plenty of practise with the dinghy will be good for the both of you, just being around boats.

The Loch looks great.

Was a great afternoon out and i think its got the mrs back into the idea of getting on the water as she was put off with the accident we watched last weekend with my dads Fairline (other thread on that)

Looking forward to another good day and time to get on the water - and these lessons. i seem to have my head into everything when out and about - ive even gone and observed others mooring and stopped them after and asked questions

the 1 thing that has always caught me out was on tickover - leaving in in forward gear - you still move even if it doesnt feel like it, so ive got the hang on making sure the outboard would be in neutural and using reverse a bit more effectively, I guess (or at least hope)translate into better awareness on the big boat.
