OUCH !! new props now required

went out sunday for first proper trip, went Hamble to beaulie then lymington, yarmouth newtown and back. Let a mate of mine have ago and pulling out if Newtown went slightly of course and dragged my outdrives along the bottom.

Had a look when we got back after feeling vibration on acceleration to find 4 very knackered props, GJW sending out a claim form today.Question is skeg of the outdrive has probably had its anti- foul scrapped off should i re-do this or will it be ok until she comes out in the winter, as the props can be changed in the water.

Oh well, at least its not just me ..............but I only managed to knacker one, not four so that makes me feel a bit better! Commiserations to you.
I managed to catch an underwater concrete lip with port outdrive prop leaving overnight mooring at Teddington so...Steel Developments here we come!

On a brighter note, ran down to Richmond on Saturday and spied Forbsie working on his boat on the slip at Eel Pie Island.

Oops oh dear, never mind. It can happen to the best of us etc etc. Ahem, cept it happened to you! And it seems to me that all sorts of mishaps "happen" hereabouts and nobody says a word. So, in the privacy of your own computer screen you can jolly well accept a damn good e-telling-off or even and e-thrashing for going aground, and spoiling an otherwise spoiling a nice outdrive!! Tit! The blimmin pilot tells you to be careful there and yerv blimmin gorn and hit the bottom when even the saily boat manage to get thru no problem.

ahem, well anyway, scuse me. Imho, don't bother extra antifouling as more seabed ploughing may be forthcoming.
