I had that happen with a Hunter 30. Sent my cheque in for the deposit, main brokers, secondhand boat, they had meanwhile had a better offer and accepted it, spun me some story about the person I dealt with having been away from the weekend etc etc etc. I was hopping mad at the time, but now am glad it happened. Bet that boat is worth a fraction of what I was going to pay for it, and found something better as well.
