I'm deep in it here. Have promised dearest I'll replace her gunged up mouse with one of the new cordless optical models. Popped down to PC World and bought a budget model.

Boaty bit is no mouse, no sailee.

According to instructions, it's plug'n'pray. Wham it into an USB port, then you have to introduce the mouse to its radio bit. Done all that, but they refuse to talk. I have until 22:10 (if I'm lucky) to sort it.

Getting Error something or other: Low on resources. Old mouse doesn't work either.

pan pan!

Got one at work with wireless keyboard as well, really good for chucking out of the way when you want to use the space for something else. Be useful for those flash gits that have built in PCs on board.

Kim, Help

I would just like to say that I've cracked the problem, and would be very grateful if Kim could pull this thread.

I'm assuming that you are as computer illiterate as me!
Uninstall completely all traces of any other mice.
If mouse and transmitter have little switches 1&2,make sure they are set to the same setting.
Run installation disc......Take it out of machine!
Go to the hardware bit in "my computer" and make sure that machine is recognising the new mouse and not some other one which it has hidden from previous uninstall.
It worked for me but some real techie will probably come up with the proper solution

PS Just to cheer you up, to evolve above process took about 7 hours,if it doesn't work go back to shop and strangle Assistant,it won't make the mouse work but you'll feel better/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

That's like SWMBO on the delivery trip for our latest boat, calling the marina to confirm a berth number as we approached, using the VHF and getting no answer and a touch miffed. Then she realised she was using the SSB Mike not the VHF one, the SSB wasn't switched on fortunately. Earlier on the trip I asked her to switch the pilot off and take the wheel, she kept pressing standby but nothing happened. We have 2 autopliots, the main one is an inboard one the other is a spare wheel pilot and not even fitted on the wheel, though the control head is on the pedestal just like the one for the inboard pilot, you can guess the rest.

Well it is a great boat. Not much use me trying to offer solutions from here, if you can't fix it, is it. I do know that whenever my confuser loses contact with the cordless jobbies, it forgets all about them. Coz, whenever our cleaner has been in I have no keyboard/mouse response. She somehow never fails to rattles the adaptor (sabotage suspected), in the back of the machine, loose and I have to go through the whole reconnect malarkey, assigning channels and all. Glad you've fixed it

Get yourself a box of batteries to keep it going, if you spend a lot of time on the computer it will eat them, unless you got a mouse with its own charger, they really are the dogs b######s, hope this one expires shortly so i can upgrade!!!!.......keith
