Hmm, need to get Sprit finished then for HISW.
She currently looks like this....

No pressure...........

Henry mentioned the scallops for the bowthruster. I see what he means now!

Quite a complex solution.

Be interested to see if it produces less drag than the traditional 'eyebrow'.

Not convinced you'll notice any difference on a boat like a Nic39.

I don't want it to make a difference, I guess that's the point.
We usually expect to see a drop of between 1/2 to 1 1/4 knts with a conventional bow thruster tube.
The addition of eyebrows in my experience makes little if any difference.
When I did the first one of these on a Southerly 38 we saw no noticeable speed loss.
We had the same result on one I did on an Ovni 38

Thanks for that, Javelin, it's fascinating. Makes sense that it's the aft edge of the tunnel that causes the drag.

I have a nephew getting married on the Saturday.
I am ushering, and witnessing signatures so it's a three line whip...

As Black Adder would say... bugger

Shame, in your boat you could have got there, come back & done the wedding and returned to Ostend before anyone noticed you were missing from either event!
