Afternoon, fellow boaters

A little while back I replaced the regulator on our gas supply as the old one seemed to have given up the ghost. This seemed to make a big difference, with the oven, grill and one of the burners on our Plastimo Neptune back working as normal. However, one of the burners (the large one) will not give a big flame. I've tried cleaning out the burner parts, however this doesn't seem to have made any difference. The issue doesn't seem to be the gas supply to the oven itself, as the other items work fine, but I simply can't get the large burner ring to play ball. Any ideas before I get the gas chap in?

A few more details would help! Does the flame burn normally but not at full output with the tap fully on? What colour is the flame? Does it afect the issue if you turn the other burners on/off? If it works best with all theother burners off, then you may simply have a restricted gas supply.

If the flame will not light all around the circumference and stands off, then you may have secondary aeration failure. This happens when dirt and grease gets into the gap under the burner and blocks the air which should come through it for final air supply right at the burner.

Did cleaning the burner parts include the jet?

The flame is most of the way around, just gives small flames, as if the knob were turned right down. Iirc, the flame is mostly blue with the odd yellow tinge. I don't think it's an air problem, as I've cleaned it all out and I've had that problem before that was fixed with a good clean.

Is the jet the small copper-ish piece under the burner? If so, yes, I removed it and ensured the hole was clear. Is it possible the pipe between the gas inlet and the burner could be blocked up?

I guess it could also be an issue with the knob. Is that likely?

I think mine is a Neptune. It's prone to rusting under the burner plate. If you lift it off there is a ring of semi-circular holes that sit under the plate. These were rusted on mine. Taking a small round file to each one cured a similar problem.
