Inboard of the fibreglass fairing is a 'figure of eight knot' with large tie-wraps.
I do not know what the 'pull' load is to separate the plug from socket possibly only about 10lbs pull but it is enough as I have been forced off the bike on a hit and run about 3 years ago and it worked very well /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
About 10 years ago, when I first had an intercom (and an electrically heated visor) I was in London and had to 'put the bike down' to save hitting a very old lady who was crossing the road looking the wrong way (to her left). At that time the bike and I did NOT part company successfully and my safety helmet (Crash Hat) was nearly wrenched from my head.
The breaking strain of a ¼-inch curly intercom cable pulled taught is about probably 400lbs plus and I can assure you, it didn't break /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif My head just wanted to follow the bike which was sliding very nicely on its side fairing at about 20mph whereas my leathers were acting as a very nice anchor on the tarmac!
