I bought some from our local alpaca shop last year for by brother in law. According to my sister, they stretched after a few washes so are no longer any good.

I can recommend the socks from Charlton Alpacas My daughter buys them as xmas/ b'day presents for me. ( she lives in that part of Dorset) and I buy some for myself.
No problem with stretching. Hard wearing. Not yet discarded any and I've been wearing the first pair she gave me for about 2 years.
They do have to be hand washed though. The only casualty so far has been a pair which my daughter accidentally put in the washing machine but they felted and shrunk to about half their original size.
Also have the bedsocks!
