A certain forumite who I met for the first time last weekend, and who allegedly once sailed a Finn, seemed disappointed that yours truly was not the callow yoof portrayed in my avatar. It is, of coure me some weeks ago and not dissimilar to the person I see in the mirror. And afloat I feel that young.

It occurs to me that on that jolly occassion I may have been the oldest male present (discretion forbids that I should go further on this tack) and this therefore perhaps gives me some rights to a certain latitude. As to how old, well let's just say that I know what my parents did to celebrate the end of WW2!

I shall continue to protect you from the harsher reality but keeping the same avatar. So there /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You are very right Roger.
Here is me, before whiskey and wild women ravaged my features.

I do wish people wouldnt ask me when I retired.

Shouldn't the question be: True or False?
Too many peeps hereabouts purvey images of what they would like to be rather than facing facts, so join the club.

But sadly Anno Domini Rools OK!

at least in the opinion of those of us who remember VE day WWII.

Chin up Roger, it's the bloody mirrors.

I'm still only 19 or so inside ( yes, yes, immature I know) but the mirrors in my house are getting more and more wrinkled- I simply can't figure it out. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Bernie, you're only as old as you feel /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Forgot I had the old school tie picture that darling mother took great pleasure in presenting to Louise /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In 35 years I did manage to change that awful hair style /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Problem now is the added grey ones /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I think they're called high lights these days /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Bugger high lights: get the whole lot done...

(Last but one red nose day. I was cruelly misled as the the wash-in/wash-out nature of the dye...)

I'm not that brave /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
The most I've ever done to the old barnet was back in the early 80's when on excercise in Senelager (W Germany) in the middle of a heat wave. Cropped the hair with a number one shearing session at the camp barbers before setting off. Someone spread a rumour that it would be two weeks with only field hygiene facilities so muggins decided to take care of the upper hygiene by losing it. Turned out we were transported to the nearest base every evening for a good shower and a few beers, that's the civilised RAF for you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is that you, or the woman you feel ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Soon be celebrating my 50'th /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Is that something best avoided I wonder /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Couldn't agree more, thankfully traded first wife in some time ago and met Louise, who is a good few years behind me in some ways /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Twelve years to be more precise, lucky I didn't meet her back in 1980, I would be locked up now /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
