Hi,
I bought a 1970's Broom earlier this year and it is fitted with an old Webasto Diesel heater. I think it's an old 3003 model. It has a Kelvin Hughes panel and I think I read somewhere that they did the installation. I tried firing it up but it cuts out after a minute or so.
I'm just wondering if these units are worth keeping in service. I expect parts will be an issue. Are glow plugs available?
Are they very heavy on power? I'm wondering whether I should replace the unit in the next year or so with a more modern system.

I've got one that dates from late 80's possibly early 90's. Works absolutely fine and CO levels in the exhaust are within tolerance. Only fault has been the exhaust pipe which had corroded through. KETO provided spares for mine a few years back. Heavy power use is only on start up, not once running. If it cuts out after a minute it may be a fuel supply issue. There is a small gauze filter in the pump inlet which can clog or the diesel may have drained back to the fuel tank if not gravity feed.

Werry good Thanks.

Well I am sure you have seen all of the threads on the Chinese Diesel heaters where you can get a complete unit etc for £95. If not have a search around
