As far as I'm concerned Iroko is a fine teak substitute if someone else is doing the work. The dust from working it is aggressive and vile - at least to my sensitive mucous membranes. Maybe I'm unusual.

Doesn't bother me, but I'm aware it does others. A dust mask may suffice, in extremis, one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/3m-versaflo-s-333-head-cover-with-integral-suspension-m-l/3813h. You will need to spend 600 quid on the pump to go with it.

I've got quite chatty with a guy that does house clearances. Phone and ask. Damaged stuff they can't sell gets binned.

Don't worry - I have a fancy aspirated mask (at several hundred quid) - but still won't go near Iroko. I'm a woodturner as well as a sailor. .... actually "as badly as a sailor" would be more accurate.
