I think I had this as part of a larger post some while back, but it may be worth another go.

Can anyone help finding out anything about this windlass?
It is currently soaking in a bucket of old diesel, so I will be hopefully dismantling it rather soon. If anyone could point me in the direction of a manual or even personal experience I would be very grateful.

Extensive googling turned up nothing.

Those Images should be sorted out now. I'm afraid they don't mention my ancient windless there at all however RestlessL, but thanks for the reply.

I have just found my old post and This helpful reply from "John Lilly"

The Clyde anchor winch does come to pieces, extract the locking pin in the central shaft that sticks out the end of the chain gypsy and the whole assembly with the winch drum should knock through.

Thant central pin is visible in the second pic, it looks very fragile, anyone have advice on it's removal. Any further advice would be welcome.

Rather than soak it in a bucket of diesel, it would pay to soak it in a bucket of molasses. This unlikely liquid will remove the rust down to bare iron and make the dismantling easier. Use a 10% solution rather than the neat stuff; it will be quite adequate for the job.

However this is a good starter for Simpson Lawrence parts.

Well that's useful, I have now identified the rusty bollard on my foredeck as a SL Hyspeed windlass, I shall have to have another go at getting it apart sometime now I know what's inside it!
