Hi all, I am trying to find some plastic track to match the existing. I found a single length in the boat jumble section of a local chandlery but I need two lengths. It measures 20mm wide and I only need the track not the car. Approx 300mm long'ish, see photo.

From searches I am confident this is no longer made. Does anyone know if this went under a specific name or prehaps any idea where I could get a couple of lengths, or just one length if I got the one I found.

Many thanks1000011317.jpg

Are you sure that the genoa tracks is plastic as all the genoa track I have used as seen is Aluminum and either anodized natural (silver) or black like the one in your picture.

I think it may well be Barton Marine. It doesn't seem to be on their current web site but it may be worth calling them or checking chandlers for old stock.

Yep, definitely plastic/nylon.

OK thanks, I'll make some calls
I am amazed I would never imagine plastic could do the job. As said would think it black anodised ali. In any case ali would serve your purpose very well. Looks pretty standard track to me. Often a jib car will have a plastic sleeve between the track and steel car. ol'will

Haven't seen plastic track for years or even tufnol?

I seem to remember that it was mainly used on dinghies. Back in the days Barton and Jack Holt (now Holt Allen?) were the main suppliers.

When do you need it by?

I think I have 4 lengths of it complete with cars.

It's in a storage unit I have (I think). Came of an old boat I had 20 odd years ago.

Where are you based?

Hi, somehow I missed your reply, I'm in north Essex and do not need the track till next spring. I have managed to find a couple of lengths but another 2 would be useful. Let me know if you find it out and how much you want for it, cheers Dan
