My 3.6m alloy boom is very light, lighter than the reefing lines inside it. Fully rigged, with the sail still in the cover, it’s manageable, just.

Well done now you need to establish if they are single or simple reefing for when you come to put the boom on and mainsail and reeve the reefing lines. We will need to know for when you ask us. ? Glad you are coming to grips with it, years of fun and frustration to follow?

Yeah there is so much I still have to learn about the boat. All I know is it's overbuilt, a bit heavy, reputedly strong, gets better as weather gets worse, and after 3 years of serious looking and walking away frustrated, I fell in love with her at first sight!

I literally told the vendor 'I absolutely love it!' and later worried about having been so transparent...

There really is so much I need to learn. I don't know if it has single or double line reefing. I don't even know how to hoist the main sail! I still have yet to find the gas tank or the main water tank, though one of them for sure is in the cockpit locker.
I don't own a car. My clothes are 'practical' at best. And my pension balance could be a running joke through a whole series of SouthPark. LOL. And I have health issues to which Beer and Pizza have significantly contributed. Fine. I just know I'm stoked to own a Westerly Storm!
