My TAMD41-p oil pressure alarm and light come on when i have been running for sometime in 3000 range when I drop the engine back in to neutral. but the oil pressure gauge is reading above the 30 psi and around the 40 psi . If I rev the engine in neutral oil pressure goes up and the the alarm goes off or if I turn the engine off for 10mins and it goes off . Any idea .
Oil changed late last year
Thanks in advance

I have not had that problem but as the warning light and gauge have separate sensors and the gauge is giving expected readings it is most likely the oil light sensor. I think you will have to bite the bullet and fit a new sensor and hope that fixes the problem.

Mine runs at around 35psi when hot at idle and 85psi at much above 1000rpm. Tend to agree with Plum, sounds like your alarm sensor is playing up. I assume you used the correct spec oil and it’s where it should be on the dipstick?

Yes, VP spec is 21psi at idle 60-71psi at WOT

You’re a little low there, but not low enough for a genuine alarm I’d think. But having been about a few of these tamd engines, I can tell you that if you’re sure you’re oil pressure is sound enough, it’s a very common thing for the oil pressure switch to either fail and/or get slightly blocked. Best of luck.

Presuming that oil level, oil filter and specified oil type & viscosity are all changed/correct?
Check electric connectors.
The 41 series do not call for any speciel engine oil but still need it to meet or exeed (API CD of 10W-20)

Lubricating System
Oil pressure, hot engine, operating speed, lubricating oil .................... 0.42–0.5 MPa (4.2–5 kp/cm 2) 59.7–71.1 lbf/in

Beyond senders for alarm and gauge also consider to check pressure by a known good gauge and (snip from a 40-series handbook):
