Hi,

Hope some of you guys have been down this street ....

I plan to inspect my oil coolers this fall (and replace all gaskets). There is no oil dripping (yet) and from what I can see oil coolers seem not corroded ... but better safe than sorry. So many bad stories.
Here is how I think I will proceed:

- Let the engine sit for at least 2 days to allow oil to drain down.
- Drain all sea water from the intercooler exit to the heat exchanger exit.
- Remove the air filter housing.
- Take away the top part of the oil stick.
- Remove the pipe to the supercharger.
- Then I hope to have access to the oilcooler.... Maybe I am wrong ..... Then simply unscrew the sea water hoses at the oilcooler and unscrew the cooler from the oil filter housing.
- Then I hope to be able to lift out the oilcooler.

I guess most of the oil in the cooler will drain down into the housing in 2 days so when I lift the cooler from the housing only limited oil should spil.

Does that sound right or do I miss something :)

Thanks for any advise.
