Oil change via dipstick

Someone on the Cruisers forum suggested that being the same as the MD2030, it could have the suction tube already there... I'm guessing yours didn't have this rubber cap either?

I use this capped tube on the MD2040 and place the suction tube tightly over it and never into it..

How do you get a tight seal between this and your pump

The box with my oil change bits and pieces is on board... and it's been a year since I last changed the oil.

From memory, the suction pipe is the same outside diameter as the metal suck out tube on the engine.. I seem to think I have an inch long piece of old fuel hose that fits snugly over both.

I'll check at the weekend... and get a photo

Hi I have just discovered my 'new' engine doesn't have a sump plug. The only way to get the old oil out is suck it out. I have the pump and some plastic pipe. My question is does the suction pipe go inside the dipstick pipe or over the outside Thanks.

I seem to be in a minority so preparing to hunker down in fear of criticism to follow

I put plastic pipe over the dip stick tube to form a seal. I then use my 12v Oil Extraction pump. Engine is 3 cylinder Yanmar.

How do you get a tight seal between this and your pump

I use jubilee clip and simply nip it up over the tube to the oil extractor (Pela 6000 is what I use).

Minority of two . I do the same on my Yanmar after I saw the local service agent do the same with a pela

The pela is good but even with warm oils it takes a long time if you have to use the small diameter tubing. on by Bukh I take the dipstick tube off the block and this leaves a bigger hole which the large pela tube goes into.
