Oil and filters for Volvo 140\'s (petrol)

I am wanting to change the oil in my AQ 140's Petrol Volvo Penta engines - what should I use? I know it should be 15/40 - but is there a special 'type' when I go to Halfords that I should look for. And, what about the oil filter - does any one have a 'number' or something for me to get the right filter - I am not too keen in going to Volvo Penta, but do want to look after my engines with the best things possible - but at the best prices too.

thanks

Get a decent qwality oil. Its the same stuff as you put in your car. The 140 is a car engine after all!. As for the filer. Go to your car spares place and get one for B20 engine. A volvo 240 used that lump as well. From memory it uses the same filter as a ford sierra 2ltr or any pinto lump.
