There have been many times I have felt like jacking it in, the latest developments with the blood pressure problem being reduced making surgery a lot safer had me saying in my hospital room last week " I'm going to beat this"
Having got this far I just need a surgeon or two who listen, understand & know what they are bloody well doing.
It is frightening how many, even at the top end of both NHS & private do not.

RD, fingers crossed and wishing you all the best. Some of what you write about surgeons/bad diagnosis/them giving up is chilling, though there must be great ones too and you'r doing a great job in finding them. Your tenacity and refusal to give in is incredible - for that alone you deserve to succeed.
Congratulations on son's wedding too.
Very best wishes

I can see a flotilla developing.

She is back on the east coast now, plan to go look at the weekend as haven't seen her since full refit.
Once I am up to it will be learning how she works, lots of stuff new to me, once happy we will be back to East Cowes (who are great & still holding the berth) So come along, I will need help hiding from all the big scary ships. :D

Just a little update, while in hospital I had an agency nurse who turned out to be trained to assist in transplant surgery etc. who introduced me to a new Glucose meter that doesn't involve sticking needles in your fingers every five minutes, has enabled blood sugar control while on TPN at night far easier & a lot more accurate.
For those with diabetes may be of interest.

Had a bit of a scare this week, spent 4 hours in a corridor after ambulance dropped me off at southend A&E, not as if I had a broken finger nail, ended up feeling better & Nicky took me back home were I was safer.
Now spoken to consultants & back to London on Thursday for blood & iron , more scans & consult with latest surgeons, fingers crossed.
