Octopus in the South of France

May 22nd saw the arrival of Octopus on the Côte d'Azur.

She was first seen at Cannes, on the final Friday and Saturday of the Festival

She was not alone since Tatoosh was also there :

Octopus had been seen in an impressive list of places in the past 6 months : Norway, UK, Madeira, Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans, Rio, Barbados, Cozumel, Curaçao,...

On May 25th, she arrived for the first time at her own designated berth at the IYCA Antibes

....and cleared off soon after, not been back to her berth since

very similar lines to my offshore 28 but a bit bigger. I worder how many wheels you would need on the trailer to bring her home over the winter.

Paul Allen. Co-founder and second biggest shareholder in Microsoft (after Bill Gates). He also owns Tatoosh and Meduse. He was the guy who bought the megayacht Hanse off Tiny Rowland because the deal included the southernmost berth in IYCA Antibes. He only wanted the berth, so he never used Hanse and flipped it straight back onto the market. He therefore has a massive Antibes berth, so big that when Octopus isn't on it (like now) two 50m super yachts rent it and park end to end with room to spare

Octopus was in Antibes on the 7th July. While I was busy shoping my nephews went of with my camera. Just flicked through all the pictures of boats and there it was.
