Any comments on this class, can she be pushed along or is she a out and out cruiser. Any gremlins? I was very impressed with the layout, more so than bav 44.

I've only sailed one in benign Med conditions. Didn't point (but maybe blame the sails), made a lot of leeway, but was very comfortable and a doddle to handle when parking. Benny have built an awful lot of them over quite a long perid, so they must have something going for them. In common with all boats of that sort, though, not sure I'd want to drive one uphill in a blow for too long.

Tis a well proven boat and the current 'Celebration' version is excellent value for money with heaps of extras.

There are a few at our marina which have recently been bought by people making the switch from power to sail.

You buying new or used?. If new why buy a boat at the end of its production life? (unless the price is very good).

The B411 is a very good boat - lots of them built and pretty solid. As other have said they are a doddle to handle and wont scare you. The Celebration model is really good value.

What I don't like about them is that they represent the previous thinking of beneteau. They have shallow keels (1.7m), short rigs and are big and fat all the way from bow to stern. Beneteaus' newer designs are tending to favour better upwind perforamce and so have bigger rigs, deeper keels and better hull forms for all round better performance.

Ah!

I suspect they read Scuttlebutt over at BennyHQ.

Sailed a new celebration half way round Ireland last weekend.

Good stong craft, very easy to handle, electronics fab and confortable.

Looking forward to trying it out against other boats this Sunday.

Only thing was the folding prop and going in reverse. Reverse took some time to really kick in and it pulled hard to port.
