Ocean Village in Storm Eunice

At days like that, you appreciate the lock at Chichester marina that you “hate” for the rest of the time.
Does anyone got recording how it looked there ?

Looks like we've suffered a little damage in Lymington Yacht Haven, apart from the cockpit cover the marina has said the rear quarter has been rubbing on the pontoon, hopefully just superficial. Will head down tomorrow to check it out.

Just been for a walk round our marina, about 3 boats need a new set of covers & one yacht lost its mast. scary how wind can do so much damage

Me too. At Swanwick. Yacht parked to one side still has sails bent on. Should have been be removed. One possible benefit is that all the boats are parked facing into the prevailing winds. So I’m hoping we’ll be ok but I’m going to be driving down on Saturday to check it out if I need to.
Hope all ok?

A tad sped up but none the less, it’s good of them to have posted that up. Shows they were happy with their marina’s and the way they were prepared for the storm.

I received an email from OV today to say that all was good there and that the buildings had created a great deal of shelter as it goes. Must have been the winds‘ direction that helped as i could easily imagine the comments above about how the opposite could be the case, coming true if wind direction had been right for it.

Think Port Solent holds record for most boats blown over. In The Great Storm 1990's? approx 40 boats went over.
It was like watching domino's
October 16 1987. Or the one in 1990. I was working for Chris Coleman Quay Marine. Boats all over the yard

Well I am pleased to say that our boat remained upright on the hard but unfortunately a wooden building in front of us lost bits of it‘s roofing felt and various pieces hit our boat on the way past. Of course Sod’s law meant that the rough side interacted with the gel coat so we have various marks/abrasions. Could have been worse I guess and looking on the bright side I have been talking to a gel coat guy about some other repairs so maybe get it sorted without too much grief.

Popped down yesterday.
She has a slight scrape mark to the gel coat as the fenders were being crushed and the hull rubbing against the pontoon. MDL moved a spare fender from the stern and tightened lines.
My onboard camera had been knocked over by a container I had catching water drips. So panic over. Now secured down.

Met and thanked Chris of MDL whilst he was out in the pouring rain checking boats.
