My trusty suzi 2.2 o/board is running hot this season. suspect that the raw water cooling water channels around the cylinder have become partially/almost completely blocked with salty 'gunge' mix of salt crystals and a bit of corrosion.
In the past it's required a strip down and dig out the blockage with a screwdriver/bits of wire etc.
Is there anything that I can run through the engine to improve matters without the stripdown? Acetic acid?
VicS / VyvC any guidance?

Acetic acid is rather weak. It'll be slow acting. If you were thinking in terms of white vinegar then that is also rather dilute meaning it will take a fair quantity to dissolve much deposit

A kettle descaler might be a better choice but I would try Fernox DS3 central heating boiler descaler which is sulfamic acid. Sulfamic acid is a much stronger acid than acetic acid.
Alternatively Rydlyme which is hydrochloric acid based.

The trouble with any chemical clean is that it will not reach any parts which are completely blocked.

Thermostat dead/frozen/blocked?
Impeller working?

I don't think there is one
