o/b bracket

Widely available from all the usual on line chandlers or outboard motor dealers. Some are stainless, some aluminium. Usually come in two sizes, up to 10hp and up to 15, but one or two are rated to 20hp (got to be a toughy to lift that!)

Has anyone made a (lifting) bracket to mount a 15hp motor or can recommend a commercial one ? please.

I'm contemplating making one, maybe on a sliding method, which can travel the full length of the transform, so it will be really close to the transform, and would be easily reached to start up and to work on.

There used to be sliding brackets available, don't know the current market for that sort of thing.

As Tranona says it will take a fair bit of lifting ( poor boat with that right on the end ! ) so a purchase system to raise it may be required.

The spring assisted parallelogram designs work OK for smaller models, Assume those rated to 15 hp+ will have stronger springs as well as stronger frame and thicker board. Sliding types are still available, but don't seem to be as popular as swingdown.
