1. RIVER THAMES - KING’S REACH - LIFEBOAT PIER - CONSTRUCTION AND DREDGING OPERATIONS - On or about Saturday 7th January 2023, marine contractors working on behalf of Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) will commence works on the replacement Lifeboat Pier, at Waterloo. These works include; removal of the existing pier, dredging operations, piling and construction operations will take place using a variety of barges including crane barges, supply barges, Multi-Cats, tugs and work boats and expected to take approximately 4 months. Usual operational hours are Monday to Saturday during the hours of 07:00 to 19:00. An area of ‘works in progress’ will be established around the site for the duration of the works as indicated on the chartlet (see in the Local List at Notices to Mariners. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY) displayed. Relocation of RNLI crews - RNLI crews will vacate the existing pier on or about the 7th January 2023 and will be stationed temporarily at HMS PRESIDENT in the Lower Pool. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14 as required.
2. RIVER THAMES - SEA REACH - TANKER BUOY OFF STATION - the Tanker Buoy is currently Off Station.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution when transiting Sea Reach. The Tanker Buoy will be reinstated as soon as practicable. Gosh, that's a big buoy to lose!
3. THE SWALE – KINGSFERRY BRIDGE - Period of Restricted Operation - due to planned industrial action by the rail Union RMT there will be disruption to the operating periods for Kingsferry Bridge. The strikes are planned for 13th, 14th, 16th and 17th of December 2022, however, the impact will also affect periods outside of these days. Network Rail have implemented contingency plans which will cover part of the disruption, please see below for the temporary bridge operational timetable:

4. SHEERNESS DOCKS – Seabed Core Sampling Operations - seabed drilling operations are due to take place in Sheerness docks in the vicinity of No.4 berth (Sheerness car Terminal). The vibro-core sampling work is due to take place on 13th December 2022, all work will be carried out from the vessel “Chili Dog” with operations being concentrated in the area highlighted below. “Chili Dog” will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 74 at all times and will be restricted in her ability to manoeuvre whilst carrying out the work. All passing ships and leisure craft should navigate with caution and reduce their wash appropriately. Admiralty Chart No. 3683 refers. 5. RIVER MEDWAY – SALTPAN REACH - ISLE of GRAIN JETTIES 6 & 7 – Inspection Work - work to inspect the cathodic protection system on Isle of Grain Jetties 6 and 7 and associated dolphins is due to commence 8th December 2022. For approximately one week Cathodic Protection Co. Ltd (CPCL) will be working on the waterline around and underneath the jetty structures to complete the survey work utilising a small boat/dinghy. The safety boat “Avocet” and/or “Westbourne” will be in attendance at all times work is being carried out. The safety craft will be monitoring VHF channels 74 & 16 at all times, vessels should pass IOG Jetties 6 & 7 with caution, minimise their wash and maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74.

6. Ipswich - Interruption to Lock Operations UTC - due to essential maintenance there may be disruptions to the operations of Ipswich lock from Tuesday 06/12/2022 until 22/12/2022 between 0800 – 1700.
Based on the worst-case scenario we hope to achieve 1 cycle per hour, depending on the tide and other shipping in the river. Vessels are asked to make use of the waiting pontoon if they are waiting for a lock in or present themselves in good time for lock outs. 7. Harwich Harbour - Rock Obstruction (Harwich Harbour) Notice to Mariners 06-2021 and 69-2022 RESCINDED - Mariners are advised that the two rock obstructions notified vide NTMs 69-2002 and 06-2001 (located in the harbour at approx. positions 51° 56.41 N 001° 18.62 E and 51° 56.35 N 001° 18.56 E) have now been removed.
8. Walker Buoy – Back in Assigned Position - Mariners are advised that the Walker Buoy has been moved back into the Assigned Position. Taht was another big buoy that went walks!
9. Potton Bridge is broke. Engineers will attend this week to see wot is wong
