Up and running - hurrah! SWMBO muttering dire threats about 'too much time in that room, whatever you are doing!'

Permanent

1. The Wreck at West Mersea is now in UKHO notices as a wreck sounded to 2.2 metres hence I have changed the symbol on my chart. There is an interesting article in our local paper on the denial of responsibility by all concerned especially the owner who was taking the vessel to Kent. We might see if we can get that up as a news item.
2. Two notices regarding a foul bottom in the deep water approaches to the Europort. I think from reading Dutch notices one is a biggish anchor but I doubt any yacht is going to try to anchor in the deep water channel... are you?
3. Notice that in February Trinity House are going to change the Sandiettie Light Vessel. Range and height of the light will be reduced otherwise things will stay as they are. It will have AIS on it but then I think it does at the moment.
4. And as Aquaholic kindly alerted us a remidner that TH will move the East Last etc buoyage.

Temporary notices

1. More work at the London Gateway including notice that in the second quarter of the year they will start dredging the deep water channel east of Sea Reach 1 (or SR1 in PLA speak) out to the Sunk. By my reckoning that's the Black Deep so we may encounter that during the summer. I wonder where they wil dump the spoil. When they did the Princes Channel a couple of years back, some of the spoil went in the North Edinburgh Channel.
2. Easthaven barrier (tidal barrier) is to be closed for maintenance. Easthaven creek as you all know is......? Is is the Creek that makes Canvey an island as Moody Roger would tell you. One for ChattingLil's quiz next Christmas.
3. Medway Ports remind us of the rules for using the Secondary Channel and that there is a temporary experimental buoy (since 2009) in the East Swale in Horse Reach
4. Medway ports give notice of works on one of the Isle of Grain jetties
5. Great Yarmouth give notice that some of the harbour works are suspended until later in the year, and
6. Also that there are quay repairs by Asda on the River Bure.
7. And finally the London Array is working adjacent to Foulger's Gat. Is it me or is the foundation at the bottom end of Foulger's Gat in the wrong position (from our point of view). Who wants to tell them?

One victim of the great computer crash was the growing list of 2011 notices affecting the area Boulogne to the Hook of Holland! Despair has currently set in but I'll get round to it.
