Only 1 UKHO Permanent NtM:

Confirmation of the recent local NtM on the River Blackwater - installation of Tollesbury Pier south cardinal buoy - Hope you all like the Pier...... (image of the position at http://www.crossingthethamesestuary.com/page9.html).

Temporary

1. Gravesend Reach of the Thames - the Tilbury Ro-Ro. Works this week;
2. Survey at the North Shipwash from tomorrow for about 3 days - an exclusion zone of 400 metres - see the image of the position I have added in the temporary list at the above web page);
3. Port of Wells - dredging, dredging...
4. Port of Ramsgate until 16th December at berths 2 and 3 - I assume are the Ro-Ro?
5. Lighthouse at Margate Pier now back lit.

That's it.

Yeap. Exactly. Piles wot were once below the surface are now in view. Mersea Quarters au contraire is suffering reductions of depths (I think Tollesbury Creek is as well) . I have finished a very detailed survey of the Quarters this autumn; the buoyage may have some changes next year. Shoal et reasonable draughts will be fine, mais deep keeled racers au dessus de 2m will need a more precise route at LW Springs.

It'll be fine - on the grounds when there is water at Tollesbury, there'll be water in the Creek. I'll look in the spring and see if there is a 'back-door' anyway. I am wondering if the re-charge at Tollesbury Wick has rolled some shingle down into the Creek/Quarters Spit. Conjecture though.

Some local opinion states that the Tollesbury North channel has deepened, South channel approaches certainly have got more shallow.

Certainly with a 4ft 8" draft it is watch the sounder carefully, but we tend to leave and return at HW anyway.

Shallowest bit always seemed to be around the Nass Beacon?

Well yes but to find the shallowest point around the Nass is quite close to the Nass which is also the deepest part! I wasn't going to publish the new chartlet as the buoyage will probably be changed in the Spring.
