And there was me hoping this was about the current recruitment campaign for Lighthouse keepers currently in the cinema as a feature film.

You were unlikely to have passed that close to it unless you were deliberately trying. If you followed the main, northern channel into the Gironde you would pass about 4 NM from it, and even the smaller southern channel is about 3 NM from the lighthouse.

If you were going up or down the coast without going into the Gironde, you'd be even further from it.

With care, though, it looks like you could get within about 0.5 NM.
