Not too bad a day on the Côte d’Azur

L,

Sorry to have missed you. We are back in Beaulieu now. St Trop was great.

Wakeup,

Yes it is, but we haven’t tried the wine. You can buy it from the monastery.

Jeez reminds me why I dont drop anchor over that side and always use the other side where there always seems to be more space. Why do boaters flock to this side? Did you eat at the (not very good) restaurant, buy overpriced tat from the monastery souvenir shop and climb the tower?

Mike, it was much of a much ness and so we saw a space and grabbed it. We were back more towards La Tonnelle, but we didn’t eat there. We had some veal cutlets that we bought in St Tropez at the butchers up near the town square. Grilled on the deck grill with salad and grilled yellow courgettes. His stuff is wonderful and well worth a visit if you are in St Trop.

Yet to buy tat on the island - how do you know when you claim to have never set foot on the islands! Mr George needed a walk for the obvious.

My mates made me walk around the island on our annual boys boat trip last September;) And actually I have eaten at the restaurant a few times but thats not really setting foot!

boating appears to be popular!
You can say that again.
That's a landscape I'm also used to see around me.
Once a year, on June 29th, when a boat procession takes place in the harbour, to celebrate the Saint Patron of the village.
For all the other days of the year, bar none, I can enjoy decent boating - thanks God! :p

Anchored in Agay today, only 7nm from Lerins but lots of peace and quiet

We've dropped the hook several times in there. From the chart it looks like it should be a good anchorage but we've always experienced a swell pushing into the bay especially in the late afternoon, which has made me think twice about staying overnight

We anchor here a lot. I think most of the swell is from large boats thundering past half a mile or so offshore. By early evening it dies down. 5.30pm now and oily calm

Thanks I'll bear that in mind
