Thanks for the starter motor help.. Engine is now working again. However its idling too fast.

What's the best way to adjust this? Its a Lister HR4. Loking at it, I figure I should either adjust the cable tension in the morse control, or could I adjust the fuel pump using the stop lever on the engine?

Thanks in advance... PS the burgee now flies over Exeter, or it will when I get a mast up. Thanks Hayden!

Regards,

Nick

I have no experince of your engine but I know on my thorneycroft it is a balance between the stop screw on the throttle control and the idle setting screw on the fuel distribution pump. By trial and error, I adjust both to give the minimum revs when the throttle is closed but without the engine stalling when closing it. I have got it down to about 500 revs.

I hope this makes sense! Does your burgee come down to the Estuary?

With the thottle lever set at idle, the arm on the pump should be against the stop.If this not the case, adjust cable, if it is the case, adjust stop screw on pump.

The burgee will be coming down the estuary once my wife and I have done a little more fitting out inside. We live on the quay and having the boat there while we work on it makes a lot of sense.

Later in the summer maybe end of June, we'll move down to Turf so we can at least get access to the sea. This winter we'll be looking for a mooring on the river. If you hear of any for a 40 ft boat (non drying) let me know!

Regards,

Nick
