Re: Aberdaron gains ground

Up tp you Major, but Aberdaron will be very sheltered and afford smaller boats a pleasant evening. Bardsey is close and easier to tackle (more accurate timing) at slack water.

I still like the idea of PD and it may still be on, but if you are concerned about wind and weather in general, the extra mileage won't harm (IMHO)

Re: Aberdaron gains ground

Hi Dave
I understand the need to change the anchorage with the current forecast, it may preclude us too as we must be there and back on Saturday and it's a 55Nm run from Conwy, this would mean running onto Pwllheli to re fuel before the return.
Please keep us all informed?
Jim

Re: Aberdaron gains ground

Thanks Dave.
Having checked numerous weather forecasting information sights it seems they all agree to NW at about 12 mph.

Hmm, need to check again later Today.
Both Llanddwyn and Aberdaron are Spot On Venues.
Aberdaron is good for Me, cos I aint never dropped the hook there.
Llanddwyn?
Can't get enough of the place.
Aberdaron Matelots?
Fuel is never going to be any cheaper.
Petrol or Derv.
Petrol heads have a prob with range and supply.
Tiss Neaps though.
Good time for Peeps who have never done Bardsey sound etc etc.
Weather watching at this early hour.
Weather watching for the next 24.
Watch Little Ship's New North Wales post for info.
Or a new one from Me if and when it drops off Page 1!

Re: Aberdaron gains ground

Winguru is showing Max 7knts Saturday N-NW Max 9 knts N-NW Sunday PD is still achievable and it seems to be dropping.

I'm bringing some drinks with me just in case I end up at Llanwy llanlwy........ tuther place! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Although Aber do dah is a good place with the tide times and wind direction, I'm a little doubtful as I have three females on board and three Seafairing Whippet Attack Dogs!

Last time I did the return trip to HH in a Northerly from Bardsey it was far from pleasant,(Wind against tide) so I don't want to spend several hours being picked on by a gaggle of chicks! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lets finalise on Friday PM. As I said before if all else fails I still have the car. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Aberdaron gains ground

Do I need to bring flowers?

That's very kind of you Major............ the girls would prefer Champers or white wine!

I hope your staying the night and not whimping out back to the safety of the land! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Panik Not eld chap!

I use Winguru for around Anglesey, I have found that it is extemily reliable and will also pick up the different conditions at certain points.

For those that havent seen this site look here at WINGURU and it's dropping

It is now showing much more favourable weather for our weekend meeting!

come on big smiles... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Panik Not eld chap!

Yer see Folks, Little Ship needs to know about 'Winguru'
If wind is agin Him, blimey the Scenery looks familiar for an Age.
If wind is with Him, Blimey---the Scenery changes on the Odd occasion.

Hactually it was L Ship that pointed Me in the direction of Windguru.
Fair play to the Waterborn Snail.
Tain't always correct but flip I still think it's the best of tother garbage predicting stuff out there.
I have been using Rhosneigr as the Hot Spot for this weekend.
Just stuck the latest guestimate on LShip's North Wales post.

Re: Aberdaron gains ground

We can also make other decisions such as postpone or have two meets!

Re: Aberdaron gains ground

Two meets? It's like watching a once great organization tear itself apart! Fascinating, but scary, to watch.

Re: Panik Not eld chap!

Fair play to the Waterborn Snail.

Oi just watch it or I'll lean her on that plastic tub of yours. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Bugger Me.
Knot noticed that before.
That helps the Job innit.
Knot withstanding where the wind comes from.
Tiss less of it We need.
We don,t like the wind at speed
We like it Calm
It does no harm
To flitter and to flutter
But more than that
It is Twat
To Anchor in our Bay
If Wind will make our Vessel's roll
Enough Curw (ale) will help the sleep
At Anchor (thinking of sheep, well we do don,t we!)
All will be well, cept We don't get that Nothern swell
So this Celt can sleep so well
That a Nothern Git can correct My knots
'Winguru' believe it or not
Is the only Forecast I believe or not.

Ty Coch, it is.
Even for One Day.
I,m Buying the Drinks.
That should be enough incentive to 'Tough Out' the Weather.

Re: Panik Not eld chap!

If you've looked after the fettlin' & the tubin' for me then me & Future Mrs Lawsy will take the care of the pre-nuptuals.

I hope to be around, whether it's Aberdaron, Llanddwynn or Porth Dinllaen, I can get to any of 'em. But if it's Llanddwynn it's a bit of a distance for a raggie from Peelyweely, so might arrive late on Saturday.

Not yer usual raggie boat mine. I'll be easy to spot. Got strange growths out the side.

I know Aberdaron well. If that's the destination, peeps should be careful of going too close in to the beach by the churchyard at high tide. There are big boulders lurking just below the surface.
