To let you know the updated version exists !

Despite searching for updates before we went eastwards in August (I had heard it was being updated), I was unaware of the updated version of Brian Navin's (brilliant) book being actually published.

Garth Cooper of this parish has done the work and my order is in. Apparently published in July - so it would have been mighty handy instead of Brian Navin's last edition, which is very out of date. It may be the official publishing date is not the date it became available.

No publicity by the publishers as far as I can see (nothing in Imray's news section) and not a mention here.

Wrong - South starts at Sheffield!
I always fear your navigation was a little ........ well  ......... it has to be said ........ dodgy :giggle:

There is a place called Nottingham - that's where I learnt to sail - it is south of Sheffield (went there once ?) and Nottingham is said to be in the MIDLANDS!?

I'm a Yorkshireman, so anything South of Yorkshire is South. Sheffield is the southernmost major city in Yorkshire. But if you want to look at my professional life, South starts at 60°S, just as North starts at 60°N (except at Cape Farewell, which is JUST south of 60°N!
